Brody credits Tyler Payne as his trainer in the art of Professional Wrestling
Brody started training on January 5th, 2019 at Pride Fitness Performance in Newport, Vermont. Tyler had arranged to have several ETWA wrestlers there that day to help out. "All that experience in one ring made for a lot of learning and a lot of ground covered in a short amount of time" (Jackson 2021). Brody was joined by fellow trainee Crimson Thunder, as well as some of ETWA's talents, such as Jobz, Jaba King, and of course, Tyler Payne.
Brody walked into the performance center that day with no in-ring experience. He says that by the time he left, he felt so confident that he would've wrestled in front of a crowd that same day, although he knew that was more than unrealistic. "After all, day one was just the basics. No matter how good I felt, I knew there was much more to learn before I could be on a show." (Jackson 2021) According to Brody, stepping out of that ring, not knowing when he would be back was very difficult. This was evident, as Brody was the last one out of the ring at the end of the session.
Training matches are practice matches that take place in training in order to prepare talent for working a crowd and being a part of a show. These matches are usually short, and typically last from five to ten minutes. Throughout Brody's time at Pride Fitness Performance, he took part in five separate training matches. He had two bouts with Jobz, two with his sworn enemy Preston Douglas, and one with The Kraken. Three of these matches took place in the same day, but each had different takeaways. Brody claims that each match prepared him for taking different moves, utilizing different styles, and taking criticism in a way that is not treated as a personal attack, but a profile on what could be improved. It is safe to say that training, especially that day, was eye opening for him.
Brody made his pro wrestling and World Of Hurt Wrestling debut in the same night. On January 31st, 2020, Brody entered the "World Of Hurt Big Winter Rumble" as a masked character named "Turbo". He shared the ring that night with several incredible superstars such as Garrett Holiday, Shane Alden, WCW's Glacier, and several others. Although Brody was only in the match for about a minute, he claims that he learned so much during that minute, not only about the business, but about himself as well. Brody debuted for 3W Wrestling on July 18th, 2021. Although the footage doesn't exist due to camera related issues, it was quite a spectacle. Brody made himself known by interrupting Crash Landing's match against Dozer of "Miserable Angry Dogs" by distracting Crash mid-match. They had a small shouting match that caused Crash to lose focus, which gave Dozer an opening to attack while his back was turned. This distraction caused Crash Landing the match. Once the match was over, and Dozer was pronounced the winner, M.A.D's Black Magic presented a M.A.D shirt to Brody, offering him a spot on the team. Brody accepted, officially joining the team.
On December 17th, 2021, Brody made his way down to Glens Falls New York for a day of training and taping for a show produced by "Standing 8 Entertainment". During these tapings, Brody took part in three different matches against three different opponents. Although he only won the first two matches, he got to showcase his skills to a new audience, plus he got plenty of ring time, which you can never have enough of. "At this point, I had been out of the ring for like 3 months, so I was hoping that I wouldn't have too much ring rust. And I went in, and I performed better than I ever have, and I hoped I would, but doing it, it was like, okay dude, you turned some heads today. Keep it up. Keep practicing footwork at home, keep working on selling at home, stuff like that, and I was doing that all along, but seeing just how much of a difference it made, I was like, okay dude, it's time to shine. You started this shit, now it's time to finish it." (Jackson 2021)
Brody debuted for ETWA Pro Wrestling on March 12th, 2022, at "ETWA Presents: This Is Our Town". Brody had always felt that he had a home in ETWA, as they were the first company he ever worked with, and with training with Tyler, he was always close with the entire ETWA family. In this debut match, Brody faced Black Maniak (Formerly Black Magic) in a one-on-one match in the opening contest for the show. Brody was only a referee for ETWA at the time, but due to a snowstorm preventing the out of state talent from getting to the show, Brody was called upon to save the day and make his debut. That same night, Brody main evented the show as well by partaking in a battle royal to close the show. Though he came up short in both matches, he made a valiant effort. On September 3rd, 2022, Brody returned to World Of Hurt Wrestling for the "Reunion Rumble" event, where he appeared as himself, now re-debuting for the company, having last appeared in the copmpany as Turbo. Although he only lasted a minute in the rumble two years prior, Brody stayed in this rumble for around 15 minutes, making quite an impact on the fans, winning then over by the end of the match. "It felt so great to come back after two years and make such a big impact and to have so many of the guys in the back remember me. When I went out, we hit every spot that we wanted to, we made the crowd pop, and I showed them, and everyone in the back what I can do. Everything went super great and that is probably my best performance yet." (Jackson 2022)
On September 20th, 2022, Brody received an offer to go down to North Adams, Massachusetts to make his TIW (Truly Independant Wrestling) debut. Brody had his eyes on TIW for a while, so to get an offer like that, Brody was excited to accept. With that, Brody made his TIW debut on October 29th, 2022, taking part in the TIW "Fall Frenzy" Rumble match, and staking his claim as a member of the TIW family. Brody Got to work with several new faces, but also, several familiar ones, such as close friends Jeff Nova and Kris Jackson, longtime mentor Foxx Vinyer, and new colleagues Carnivora (Danny Atom and Russtache), just to name a few. "To work with so many new faces was great, but it was also so great to work with several people who I knew, who knew me, and we all know each other's moves. It's so helpful in a rumble because there's so much room for error in a match like that, and to have everything go so smoothly was so nice. It's always so great to work with guys like Nova and Kris, Foxx, Danny and Russ, because they are just so easy to work with, and now that I've worked with them a few times, we all know what each other does and we know each other's gimmicks really well and it just helps us get everything over that much easier. I also love working with new faces, and working with guys like Shawn (Phoenix) and Johan (Nara) was so great too." (Jackson 2022) Brody's close friend Zeke (Ezekiel Reacts) went down to "Fall Frenzy" with Brody, making it his first pro wrestling show where he was in the back. On the ride home, Brody and Zeke talked extensively about the show, and they both were more than happy with how the night had turned out, making the night memorable for both men. "I can't speak on Zeke's behalf, but for me, I was so happy with how the night had turned out and I hope to be back in TIW very soon." (Jackson 2022)
